Description

There is always a story behind any object created by Charles & Ray Eames. This coat rack is another example of this.

“We have to take pleasure seriously,” said Charles Eames.

The Hang it all, designed in 1953, at first glance is fun and eye-catching, but it also contains much of the history of its iconic creators.

Its steel rod structure corresponds to the one used for the “Road base” also known as the “Eiffel Tower” base of the Eames Plastic Chair.

The wooden balls originally finished in different colors and that we can now buy in solid walnut or ash wood, remind us his magnificent work with plywood as well as the use of color in his designs.

It has eight large and six small hooks, where balls of different sizes are placed, which allow us to hang our clothes without leaving any marks or breaking them.

The distance between the balls allows us to hang a coat rack next to another while maintaining the original aesthetic.

The Eames designed everyday and timeless objects, by and for everyone.

The original version with a white powder-coated structure with colored balls was initially marketed by a famous toy company.

We currently have more options, such as a structure finished in black powder and wooden balls or the editions with a green, red and white structure that Vitra published to celebrate its centenary.

The Hang it all designed by Ray & Charles is not “good” or “very good”, it is “Eames“.

A fun coat rack that we can use both in homes and offices.
